Set along Fushimi’s Ryoma-dori Street up a flight of stairs on the 2th floor of its building, White Magic-ICE CAFE- offers chilled sweets in a clean, predominantly white interior. When the kakigori arrives at the table, it forms an imposing, generously mounded bowlful, yet the shaved ice is light and feathery enough that spooning through the generous portion never feels heavy.
A highlight among the offerings is the strawberry milk shaved ice, blanketed in a vibrant strawberry syrup. Condensed milk brings out the tart sweetness of the fruit, while a creamy milk pudding hidden right at the core introduces shifting textures and rich sweetness as you dig deeper. The menu also rotates through other flavours, ranging from aromatic roasted green tea to crisp, refreshing lemon.
